dotby on mobile

The mobile app is not a shrunken copy of the web app, and it is not trying to be. It is the half of dotby you need when you are not at a desk: what is assigned to me, what changed, and a way to reply.
Same workspace, same backend, same data. Sign in and it is all there.
The legal source of truth for the companion apps is the Privacy policy and Terms on this site. App Store and Play listings point at those URLs.
Getting it
Section titled “Getting it”Search for dotby in the App Store or on Google Play, then sign in with the same account you use on the web.
On iOS and Android you can sign in with Apple, Google, an email code, or a password. Passkeys are a web-only sign-in method.
There is no separate mobile account.
What is there

Inside those you can open a task, change its properties, comment, mention people, attach files, and read the whole thread.
Camera and photos
Section titled “Camera and photos”If you attach a photo or file to a task, comment, or page, the app asks for the camera or the photo library only for that attachment. The file is stored with the rest of the workspace. The apps do not use camera or photos for advertising, and they do not request microphone, contacts, or location.
The things worth having on a phone
Section titled “The things worth having on a phone”Time tracking. Starting a timer is a phone-shaped action — you are usually walking away from a desk when you remember. Log an entry in one line, or start the timer and stop it later.
Comments and mentions. Reply on a task from the same thread you would use on the web.
Board triage. Move a card to another column while you are on a call about it.
Still web-only
Section titled “Still web-only”The mobile app deliberately leaves out the surfaces that need a big screen and a pointer:
- The timeline and portfolio Gantt
- Whiteboards
- Workspace settings, modules, and billing
- Deep bulk editing and column configuration
- Building and reordering saved views
- Passkeys, Slack connection, and Pro checkout (Stripe)
Paid plans are purchased on the web product. The iOS and Android apps do not sell subscriptions, process cards, or include an in-app purchase.
The companion apps also do not include push notifications, advertising or analytics SDKs, or in-product AI. Email notifications still come from the account you already use on the web. See Notifications and Inbox.
If a feature is not on your phone, it is on the web app at go.dotby.app — the same URL works in a mobile browser.
Links open in the app
Section titled “Links open in the app”A dotby link shared in Slack or email opens the app on the right screen if you have it installed, rather than dropping you at a login page.
Offline
Section titled “Offline”The app needs a connection. Sign-in is restored when you come back to it, and work in progress is not lost when the app is backgrounded.
- Privacy policy — camera, photos, Sign in with Apple, and account deletion.
- Notifications and Inbox — email and Inbox, not push.
- Track time — the feature mobile does best.
